Data Protection Boost by Veeam Data Platform
Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform
Implementing Veeam Data Platform has helped us to enhance the approach to data protection a lot. It’s been simple to set up scheduled backups as well as easy to manage, which is a factor that has made me confident enough in disaster recovery systems. It means our team is able to spend time on more important tasks rather than spending much time configuring the backup environments and processes.
Pros
- Features, which include instant VM recovery of near zero time in system failure conditions.
- Sure Backup that automates the process of checking the recoverability of each backup performed.
- Combined ransomware protection with subpoena-proof backup storage and artificial intelligence.
Cons
- Controlling and creating the complex backup jobs should have a better and more.
- Certain elements always need points for modifications regarding particular business demands.
- Sometimes, values that go into storage requirement calculations are kept deliberately low.
- Virtualized workloads
- Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
- Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
- In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
- In addition to back up, we also snapshot some of these workloads
- Enterprise applications such as Oracle or SAP HANA
- NAS filers
- Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
- Capacity Tier to store data within object storage for longer term retention
- Utilizing backup copies for secondary purposes via DataLabs
- Automating test restores to validate recoverability
- “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)
- Accessing data for data mining or re-use of backup copies via API
- Failover or recovery scripts/plans for orchestrated recovery
- “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)
Veeam Data Platform is designed to protect our workloads across multiple environments:
Cloud workloads, Virtual machines and Physical servers. We see that automations have decreased manual intervention of what it used to be.

- In the event of a system failure or small disaster, one could achieve a recovery capability.
- More effective reporting of compliance positions.
- Increased confidence to protect data among stakeholders.
One of the biggest benefits of using Veeam Data Platform has been how effectively they manage account provisioning. RBAC or role-based access control, provides efficient permission control, whereas the automatic provisioning guarantees safety compliance regarding the team’s changes.
The automation related to the platform has substantially changed our user administration. Veeam Data Platform integrates with our current identity management solutions to automatically provision users depending on roles. It has been established that this automation has cut down on overall reliance on manual work concerning user management, all while enforcing proper security measures to the backup structure.
By implementing this feature, Veeam Data Platform has made MFA of our backup infrastructure very strong, making the organization more secure. Currently, they have multiple solutions for authentication and allow using phones and hardware security tokens; however, the security is kept high. From this implementation, we have been able to address compliance measures as well as control cases of unauthorized attempts.
Before we chose Veeam Data Platform, we compared it with CommVault and Rubrik storage management solutions. However, to compare them by strengths, it was Veeam Data Platform that offered better VM integration and a way easier management console. One was the fact that it was cheaper to use than the other platform, which was packed with a number of features.
